We just didnt have a clue and what she was going on about. She wasn't trying to say them to us. She would just be standing there facing a wall and say them. Each time she said the two words she would touch the wall, table or the fridge..what ever was infront of her.
Then...
Yesterday i was sitting in her room with her, just infront of her Safespace and she found a book, which we hadnt looked at since way before xmas. She opened the book to the same page that she always opens it too. Took my hand and made me point at the pictures...i promtly said what animal i was touching. First 'Hippo' then 'Flamingo'. This is repeated for about 10+ times. Then as i said Hippo she said 'Apoo'! then when i said Flamingo she said 'Gagoo'!
Now this book hasn't been out in months and when it was out before she would always make me say hippo and flamingo(by taking my hand to point at the pic)...but she never said anything at that time. I'm amazed that she has remember! and that inside her she's been thinking about it and trying to say it!!!
She never ceases to amaze me!!

It is all in there, Halo, it must be. Patience, love and time...and you have all in abundance. It warms my heart each time you get another sign.

Yay!!!!!!. Fantastic. I have hope now because Jamie does that! Takes my finger and makes me repeat the words or name the picture. Like you say small steps. Way to go Twinkle :0) xxxx
I'm so glad to hear that. :)
Aaaah. That is gorgeous. So pleased for you and her x
Oh Halo, that's wonderful news. Definitely progress is being made. Lots more books now.

'Corse she is talking! Never any doubt...she has been talking to you in her head for years now...books are wonderful...resist the temptation to stick to baby books though and read her age appropriate books and beyond if it seems the right step as N3S is heavily into books that are way beyond what I would have expected for hsi age (but still plays with baby toys). Oh and what about taking her to the library and seeing if she would like to choose books from a selection laid out on a table?
